Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

breaking a lease

I would like to know if I can break a one year lease early to purchase a home. I live in California and my rental company told me when I signed my first lease that I can't break my lease.

Re: breaking a lease

You can't, unless you want to harm your credit.

It is not a good idea. However, you should be able to negotiate your way into an early exit, if landlord and/or rental company will talk about letting you off the hook.

Don't forget landlord only wants a tenant paying rent on a regular basis.

Frequently a lawyer can help in the negotiations.
