Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Breaking the Lease

My husband lost his job few months ago and couldnt find another job; now we have no source of income. In the past few months, we used all of our saving to pay for the life necessity, including rent. The economy is getting worse by the seconds. Fortunately my husband got a job offer in new Zeeland and we must move out of the country. So far we have been good Tenants making all payments in time but if my husband does not accept the offer we will not be able to pay for next month (March) rent. We signed one year contract with our landlord and we have 3 months left on the lease (March, April, may). Is there any way we can get out of our lease without effecting our credit score?

Thanks

Re: Breaking the Lease

Talk to the landlord ASAP and see if you can work something out. Good luck with the new job in New Zealand. It should be a terrific adventure.
