eviction

can an owner evict you for no reason, after you already paid the rent for this month. i've been living here for 13 yrs, and suddenly he gave me a 60 th notice.

Be careful of your terms.

Yes, you can be given a 60 day notice. This is not slavery. You, also, can move.

Evictions are court ordered, and only at the end of a lawsuit.

If you are a month-to-month tenant, which you almost certainly are after 13 years, then yes, the landlord can terminate your tenancy with 60 days notice for no reason at all. That is why, as a tenant, you are often better of signing a term lease if you plan to stay for a long time.
