Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

indoor/outdoor cats

own a condo & have 3 healthy & happy cats that enjoy the outdoors sometimes. rules states dogs must be on leash, cats are to be kept indoors only. is this discrimination or unfair treatment of pet owners?

It may be discriminatory, but it isn't an area of discrimination that is protected by law.

There's no question that the rules are not the same for cats and dogs. Is it unfair? I dunno.

Discrimination based on pet species is probably not actionable. Your best bet is to politely seek support for a change in the rules. Either that, or have the cats get out "accidentally" all the time.
