Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My landlord made us pay in money orders. Now he is trying to claim we paid only $1200, when we actually paid $2650. Can we request copies of his bank deposit slips that show what we paid him? OUr bank statements and money order stubs only proved we got the money order, not who cashed him?

Good question. Based upon what you have written about, you can request that your landlord provide you with his bank statements to show what deposits he made over the period of time that your rent money allegedly was not paid in full.
