Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlords Noise Complaints

Hi, I live in an apartment and my landlords live right below me. They have been complaining about noise at around 1 to 2 AM. When I ask them about what noises they hear, they claim we are jumping around and slamming our closet doors at night. However, the floors creak and make sounds just from walking and i don't think we slam the doors at all. Can they file anything against us with these claims? Can they evict or kick us out of the apartment before our lease is up? and Should i be worried? I am a college student and it'd be hard to find a new apartment in the middle of the school year.

Re: Landlords Noise Complaints

It would be difficult for your landlord to evict you before the lease is up. But you can bet that your landlord will evict you at the end of the lease term.
