Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

lease agreement

I entered into a 1yr lease. I gave my

landord a 60day notice before

expiration of the lease which my she

said she had no problem with. Now

that i have completely moved out

she refuses to give me my deposit

and is trying to charge rent for rest of

lease term.

Did you get her consent to your early termination of the lease in writing? If not, you are going to have a tough time proving that she consented to early termination of your lease. Good news is that there are limits on how much she can charge you for early termination (search other posts on this site for that info - its very long), but bad news is unless you have a written release, you are going to have a tough time fighting this one.
