Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Legal reason to break a lease

I have been in this apartment complex for over a year and I am wanting to break my lease. I have had nothing but problems with management. Recently, my neighbors apartment downstairs was broken into in broad daylight (while I was home) and I am scared to live here alone (being a young female). They used a screwdriver and popped the sliding glass door right of its track, which is why I probably didn't hear anything.

Along with that issue, there are a few others, My door frame is loose and have been waiting over a week to get that fixed. After moving in, they made new rules and sent out letters stating the new rules. The first one was that I could no longer have a charcoal bbq pit, and now they have new parking rules. You cannot back into your space, cannot operate or park your motorcycle on their grounds, and if you have a visitor, you have to get a temporary parking permit.

Although I am irritated with some of the new rules, I mainly fear for my safety. It seems as these burglaries are progressing to a more violent in nature in my area.Is there any way I can break my lease with having to may minimum fees for this???
