Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Mold was identified in the apartment that I have been renting for about 20 years. The landlord/owner wants to fix it but we have to vacate the apartment for up to a month. What are the rules about the landlord paying for hotels, food/per diems, etc. Additionally they are requesting me to clear out my garage but will not pay for a storage unit.

What is the landlord required to reimburse when we are temporarily away from the premises. Can I

reduce my rent payments by an underpayment on the costs incurred from living offsite?

The landlord who breached the warranty of habitability has to pay for all damages resulting from that breach. That would include relocation expenses including hotels, food, moving, and storage expenses.

Not sure if you could do that but you don't have to pay rent for the period you are away due to relocation.
