It depends upon the term of your lease, and also if you are renting an apartment, an RV space or a mobile home space. If you are a resident-manager in an apartment, mobilehome park or RV park, you may get only a five day notice. You need to contact an attorney in your area directly to discuss the situation.

The landlord has to provide you with a written 3-day notice if your rent is unpaid, or 30- or 60- days (depending on longevity) for other reasons. Some cities have rent stabilization laws that require just cause for evictions.

If you're asking how much notice you have to provide the landlord, it's usually 30-days, unless there's a life-threatening or safety issue that requires you to leave immediately.
