Your best bet is to get in touch with your landlord immediately and discuss with him what's going on. There is nothing legally you can do to stop the landlord from serving you with a three day notice to pay or quit as soon as you fail to pay the full amount of rent on time, so you need to put together a plan to catch up this month, and not fall behind next month. The landlord may work with you if you can put something together that looks like he won't be facing this same problem again next month. Legally, if you get a three day notice to quit, you have the option of moving, or being evicted. You may also want to see if you can borrow the rent month from someone to avoid the problem entirely.
