Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I signed a second lease to a new apt with same owner..... The owner is evicting my roommate and myself from the 1st lease.... Is this legal or can I get an eviction from one and be safe on 2nd lease?

Saying you are being evicted based in the first lease makes little sense. Unlawful detainer actions are filed by landlords when you have violated the lease.... Most of the time it is for failure to pay rent... There needs to be a reason, if not file an answer and defend it...

This does not make sense at all. An eviction is the lay term for an unlawful detainer complaint, in which the landlord seeks to gain possession of the premises. A landlord does not file an unlawful detainer just to give possession back to the tenant. You may want to repost and carefully explain your legal problem using simple factual statements of what is going on.
