Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Were we wrongfully evicted?

Were we wrongfully evicted??

I was just wondering if I had any kind of case against my former employer, a property management company; I was working as a Property Manager for them for almost 2 years, all of a sudden this vicious new propery supervisor comes along and tells us we have 3 days to move!! The only reason I didn’t fight them is because 1.) my mother had just died a week before and 2.) I didn’t want to take a chance on an eviction on my record …otherwise I would have fought them hard.

The only contract I had with them was a rental contract;(I still have a copy of it) on the contract it shows that I was “paying” a certain amount of rent each month and that I was basically a tenant. Should I have not been given a 30 days notice, after all there was no legal reason to evict us out like that, we were “not late on the rent” and according to the company we had been doing a great job.

Please advise

Re: Were we wrongfully evicted?

They had no right to give you "3 days to move".
