Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

Husband reicieving child support from Doctor x-wife

My boyfriend was awarded $2000/ month agreed to receive $1500/month for child support and alimony for 2 children .X-wife is a doctor. Husband stayed home with children to allow wife to go to Med. school. Married 14 years.X-wife wanted and did start private practice lowered income by choice. She is requesting to not pay child support or alimony at all. she was vocationally tested and is acountable for her $150,000/year potental. The judge rulled in husbands favor based on nondicriminatory acts towards husband. Husband awarded$1500/ month Wife cries everyone leaves court room and THE JUDGE CHANGES HIS MIND wants everyone back in court in 1 week to amend his decision .he seems to feel bad for wife. If it were reverse and husband had to pay wife it would be cut and dry. IS IT LEGAL FOR A JUDE TO CHANGE HIS MIND AFTER HE RULES AND ISNT THIS SEX DISCRIMINATION IN REVERSE?

A judge can change his or her mind at any time before the judgment is entered and even afterwards under some circumstances.

Where is there any evidence of sex discrimination? A bad ruling is not evidence of this. You seem to be drawing some connection between the ex wife crying and the judge changing his mind. Even if there was some causal effect, judges change their minds for various reasons. Unless he said something or did something to evidence a discriminatory attitude, I would abandon this speculation and concentrate on the issues and evidence.
