Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California

I am a peri-operative registered nurse in search of.....

I am a peri-operative registered nurse with 13 years of knowledge & experience in my chosen specialty. I am located in the San Gabriel Valley & am in search of an experienced attorney who is familiar with, specifically, the CA state law mandated requirements for registered nurses to report cases, within their scope of employment, of suspected patient abuse. Briefly, I have been terminated from my last employer July 15, 2005 for filing a report of suspected patient abuse in which I suspected this 26 year old females injuries to be a result of domestic violence. This young girl died 2 days after her admission & after being operated on,her cause of death, to this date remain unknown pending lab results. The surgeon(whobrokehospialpolicy&procedure, shouldnothaveoperatedtobeginwithwithoutanassistant) was unable to determine her cause of death & had no explanation for the family for her''mysterious''&suddencauseofinternalbleeding),the chief of surgery was able to ''take the heat'' off the surgeon. I filed a police report(makingitahomicidecase) bringing law enforcemnt attention to the family(surgeon & owner of hospital(close acquaintances)angry at me.Family angry about homicide & now sueing hosp. I was fired. I do have MD witness & other.

I'd be interested in taking a look at all of the communications and correspondence to evaluate this further. I'd also like to see the court documents involving the suit the family has brought.

You may have a good lawsuit as a whistleblower. You may have been terminated in violation of the public policy of the State of California.
