is it against the law to charge a patient for a missed appt?

You have every right to charge your patients for missing appointments, your time is valuable and some patients have psychological issues with keeping appointments that aren't your problem. We lawyers have this problem also. Of course, it is unpleasant to charge the patient or client even if he or she has wasted hundreds of dollars of your time. Some offices only charge for the second missed appointment.

If one of my prospective clients misses two initial appointments, they're gone.
