Legal Question in Military Law in California

Veteran to Active Duty

I am a veteran of the USAF and am thinking about rejoining. I was told that they are not taking any prior enlisted; what are my options?

Re: Veteran to Active Duty

There could be numerous reasons or you could have just gotten "bad" information. First, assuming that you had an Honorable Discharge and no bars to "re-entry" [your RE "code" on your DD 214], if you are within the age bracket and can pass your physical, there shouldn't be any issue about reenlisting.

If you haven't talked to a recruiter in person, do so, but take a copy of your DD Form 214 with you.

If you have any specific questions, please email my privately as this forum is not protected by the attorney-client privilege.

Good luck,

Re: Veteran to Active Duty

You could always try getting a job with an Air Force contractor, many of these jobs involve the same work you had while on active duty, but you get paid more!
