Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Auto Accident

I was in an auto accident and had filed a claim with an accident attorney. It has been about 8 months and they have yet to come to any kind of settelment in my case. They do not return any of my phone calls, and when I call their office all I get is the run around. How long should it take to settle an accident claim? Can I change to another attorney?

Re: Auto Accident

It takes anywhere from 3 months to 3 years to settle an auto accident. Depending on the liability and the insurance company. If the case does not settle and you end up going to trial this takes time to. However, if your attorney is not communicating what is going on in your case than it would probably be wise to find a new one. I would be happy to speak with you regarding your attorney and inform you of your rights as a client and his obligations as an attorney so you can determine if a new attorney is really necessary at this point. Since all you wrote is that you are getting the run around from his office it is hard to tell you what he should or should not be doing at this point. I can be reached toll free at 888-563-8529. The call and consultation are free. I look forward to speaking with you.
