Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Hi, I was Driving down a street, and In a mid block crosswalk, I hit a pedesterian with my car. I was traveling 10-15 miles a hour and was below the speed limit. It was a honest mistake. I do not know what happened to the pedesterian. Is it possible I will go to prison if he dies?, I don't know the state of the pedesterian. The police took a statement and gave me a ticket.

It is unlikely that there will be acrimal prosecution. However, you may be sued by the injured person for their injuries. Make sure you notify your insurance company of the accident so they can assist you.

You potentially face serious charges for the injury / death, so get an attorney to defend the criminal charges, do not talk to anyone but that lawyer about the case, turn the claim over to your insurance carrier.
