Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Went to well known fast foods chain (Carl's Jr.) and bought burger at the drive thru. While eating, bit into a piece of metal. Returned to Carl's with metal and receipt. They wrote up incident report and they were allowed to take the metal... which I now have back in my position.

My dentist has examined my teeth and found that the metal has broken a filling and also broken a tooth which will now require a crown. I have no insurance.

My dental work was up to date, had check up and minor work done about 2-3 months before this burger incident.

Carl's not helping. Clearly any contact made by them is a stall tactic. I have contacted personal injury lawyers. They feel that there is not enough money in it to make it worth their while.

Feel free to provide me with the information by e-mail. I'd be happy to draft a letter. Sometimes, companies might be more responsive to attorneys than to the injured party. There is a two-year statute of limitation for bringing a personal injury lawsuit so I would think that this occurred fairly recently.
