I fell at a store due to water on the floor. I was not injured, except for a small bruise. Can I be compensated for the fall?

If it was a grocery store, perhaps you could ask for a free apple?

You can ask the store for compensation, but they probably will not offer more than a few hundred dollars at most. You have you to show they were negligent. You can look at answers to similar posts to see what issues you will have to deal with.

A small bruise is not a serious injury, so even if you are entitled to compensation it would not be very much. I say "if" because the store is only liable if the accident was its fault. I don't know whether it was or not. In any event, based on the limited facts you have provided, this does not seem worth suing over.

Maybe there's some compensation there somewhere, but very few attorneys with any level of integrity would bother with such a case. Like Mr. Reed above said, ask for an apple, after you prove that the store was liable.
