Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

A friend of mine was walking her small dog in her condo complex and a large

dog(bull mastiff) went through a screen door of the dog owners condo and

grabbed the small dog in it's mouth and knocked down my friend who broke her

hip. Does she have a case? The owner's of the large dog are renters.

Yes, she may likely have a good case. Have her contact me to discuss the actual facts, her damages, remedies, etc. I'll be happy to help her in this. She should hope there is insurance to cover her bills. That is a major factor to determine about the dog owners.

It sure sounds like she does. Your friend should meet with a personal injury attorney as soon as possible. If her injury makes that difficult, she should talk to one or more lawyers by phone instead. It is important that she act as soon as she can.

Whether the law is on your friend's side is one question, but whether the dog's owners can afford to pay a judgment is another. There may be a basis to sue their landlord as well, though I would need more information before I could say whether there is. Even so, she should still find out what she can about the potential defendants' assets and insurance.
