Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Hi,

I drove through an arco gas station to get gas in a standard 14' rented uhaul. upon leaving, the top of my truck scraped the overhang to their building and did a small amount of damange. There were no height restriction signs anywhere and I was driving in the proper lane, not up on any curbs. They are now saying I am liable for the damage. I disagree, since it's a gas station that serves vehicles like this regularly. The overhang of their building sticks out beyond the side walk over the drive. Any advice for me? BP sent me a letter saying I owed money.

Thanks!

You're at fault. Pay BP. Then pay U-Haul. No, your insurance doesn't cover this.

Maybe your insurance does cover it. Other than that, Stone is right. You are entirely responsible for hitting anything stationary with a vehicle you are driving, period.
