Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I was involved in an auto accident through no fault of my own while two months pregnant. My child has autism and I want to know if she is entitled to compensation because of this.

I don't know whether auto accidents cause autism. Ask a physician. Your question indicates you have waited at least several months before seeking legal help, maybe you have blown the legal time limit and it's too late to sue. Consult a personal injury lawyer.

In order to prove this was caused by an accident, you would have to have an expert in the form of a doctor who specializes in Autism be willing to testify that it was caused by the trauma from the accident. How bad was the accident? How badly were you injured? When was the accident?

One other thought. If an expert will testify that there is cause and effect, your child might have a claim of her own that might be brought at any time until within two years after she reaches age 18. However, it's advisable to consult with an attorney IMMEDIATELY to protect your and your child's rights in this matter.
