My heart goes out to you upon hearing of the loss of your brother!

The rights you have are covered by the "Freedom of Information Act". Generally, you cannot get information regarding on going investigations. At some point in the future you can through the Freedom of Information Act. However, that won't be until the police and D.A. have completed their investigation and possibly trials. You may need to bring a court process to get the information, even then.

If your brother has heirs (children, wife or others that are financially dependant upon him) and they seek the information through an attorney bringing a lawsuit against those responsible for your brother's death, the attorney will be able to get information from the police to aid in identifing potential defendants.

If your brother has heirs that wish to recover for the injuries they are suffering from your brother's death, I am most interesting in speaking to them.

Consultations and case evaluations are usually free from professional law firms that specialize in personal injury. Please consult with a "top notch" firm as soon as possible. Why a "top notch firm"? They will have the "fire power", know how, finances, experience and guts to go after whomever is responsbile.

We handle cases throughout the State of California, charge no fee until and unless we recover money for our clients and we advance all costs.

The time limit within which a claim needs to be made may be as short as six months.
