Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I live in California and was involved in an automobile accident found 100% the other driver's fault. The other insurance co. has offered less than what my insur. co has paid for my med pay. This amount is about equal to my out-of-pocket medical bills and legal consultation fees. Am I required to pay all this settlement to my automobile insurance co leaving me with zero? or does the law permit me to pay my insurance co a percentage of this settlement based on what portion of my medical they paid ?
