Parole Officer falsley accused a citizen

In a small California town, a parole officer ,while checking on his parolees has accused a woman known by 3 parolees of being a drug dealer.She has never been arrested and is not a drug dealer.Five seperate people have told the woman this same thing ,that officer asked them about this wom,an and then said she is a drug dealer.should she send a cease letter to officer?

Slander is actionable, but, without proof of monetary damages, not worth suing about. I recommend that you file a written complaint about this to the parole officer's supervisor.

Slander, or defamation of character, can be the source of a winning civil law suit, but you need to show damages.
