Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

regarding Professional Witnessing

I have earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, my fiance is a practicing Emergency Room Physician. We are interested in becoming professional witnesses. Could you please provide me with as much information as you feel it is important for us to know? Necessary certifications? Risks? Thank you for you time and attention to our question.

Remember that trials are adversary proceedings. And they are usually done with jurors in the box. So if you're not comfortable with public speaking you'll need to work on the skills of communication: listening carefully and speaking to groups without appearing (usually your preception) as an idiot. The group that does the best job of training you in these skills is Toastmasters. Then get the word out on your skills. Expect to look like an idiot (to yourself) on your first deposition. A friend of mine, who I used on a case, made that comment to me. After her second deposition the two attorneys went out for a short time and settled the case.

All that you needed to do was to call me or ask me the last time that I saw you and I could have totally hooked you up. I still can. Call me and I will get you started. It is easy.

Work up a detailed resume and network with lawyers. Offer to give free educational lectures at larger firms. That is a great way to get attorneys to know you.
