Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Salon Hair Damage

I went in to get my hair straigtened with the so called Japanese Perm. My hair is falling out and it looks like someone has taken shears to the back of my head. Is there anything that I can do besides get my money back?

Small claims court - document with pictures and witnesses, tell your story, and hope for the best.

Re: Salon Hair Damage

I have had a few of these cases. Both for the plaintiff and defense. You may receive $3000 or more depending on how long your hair was and whether you had any important engagements after. Some issues surround why your hair fell out. Was the beautician negligent? How thick is your hair? How long did the salon leave the application on your hair? Was the length of time too long?

If you can't find an attorney to take the case, small claims court is an alternative way to attempt to recover. The value of the case once you prove negligence: How embarrasing was it to be seen with chunks of hair missing? What was your level of humiliation and emotional distress? How much should you be compensated for this suffering?
