Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Suing a company

I was involved in an accident with a company truck and they refuse to settle because they feel it wasn't their fault. My attorney filed a lawsuit and I want to know how long it takes before I will receive an answer from the courts or when I will go to court to try to resolve this matter. I have submitted all the info to the lawyer in March 2004 and still have not resolved it. Can you give me some insight as what the procedure is for suing a company?

Re: Suing a company

You say you have an attorney. Talk with that attorney and if you do not have confidence in him/her, retain new counsel. I your attorney cannot answer your questions, you need to act.

First, trucking companies are horrible as are their insurance companies as far as settling. 2nd,

lawsuits and litigation can go on for several months as well. Your questions should be posed to your own atty and he should be the one explaining all of this to you. Schedule an office meeting with him so he can take you through it.

Re: Suing a company

shouldn't you be asking your retained attorney these questions?

if your lawyer isn't answering your questions, get new counsel.

good luck.
