Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

vandalized car on companys property

My car was vandalized and about 1500.00 damages were done. I work in a place with about 300 employees. The company said the security cameras do not work. Is the company required to have a system in place.I enter a gated facility and there is a guard present at all times. No signs are posted to park at your own risk. Please advise.

You need to show improper behavior by the company. Even with security cameras, they might not have caught it.

There is a chance you could collect all, or part, of the damages. Did you have comprehensive coverage on your insurance policy? If so, your insurance carrier should cover anything in excess of the deductible.

You may collect, here, but it would be a bit of a longshot. Best thing would be to hire an attorney to write a strong letter to company, demanding damages, and if they deny it, action in Small Claims Court.

E-mail, or call, if you need more.

No, they are not required to have security in place. You could tell them you want their insurance to pay for it or sue your employer in small claims court, but in reality that will probably get you fired.

Report this to your insurance and let them handle it as a comprehensive claim.
