Legal Question in Product Liability in California

Celebrex question w/ permanent damage

My mother-in-law was taking Celebrex years ago which caused her kidneys to almost completely fail. She also had two heart attacks, immediately followed by a major stroke. She had to learn how to walk and talk again. She doesn't remember those years at all and has permanent brain damage. Would it be wise for her to join a class action lawsuit or can she sue individually. She is still dealing with the aftermath and it has been atleast six or seven years. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Celebrex question w/ permanent damage

unless you (or your mother in this case) are an individual who has not suffered any serious effects, you would be best served by hiring an individual attorney.

though i would need more facts to give you an idea of what you are looking at, having dealt with mass tort actions which have turned into class actions, your mom's case would not seem appropriate for resolution in the class. she and her rights would really get lost.

call if you would like to speak.

thanks.

Re: Celebrex question w/ permanent damage

Hi,

I am very sorry your mother has suffered so much. I agree with the opinions expressed by the previous respondents. Your mothers best interests are probably best served by obtaining individual counsel rather than participating in a class action where she would most likely become just another number.

Please call me if you would like further assistance with this matter and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Very truly your,

Russ
