Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

For 18 months we have suffered the harrassement, threats, theft and vandalism from the renters next door. I have contacted the land lord, to no avail. I understand there is a nuisance neighbor law in california where I can bring suit against the land lord. I do not know where to start.

California has laws regarding harassment, and against nuisances (both public and private), but I know of none that would be thought of, or called, a "nuisance neighbor" law. Sounds difficult to define and enforce.

In your case, I'd say the most-likely applicable law might be Code of Civil Procedure section 527.6, dealing with temporary restraining orders and injunctions against harassment.

Please note that this code section was substantailly re-written, effective January 1, 2012, so if you look it up on line or in a library, be sure you have the current version.
