Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Hi, I'm 17 about to turn 18 in 4 months. I was caught shoplifting an item worth $40 at Sears in Riverside, California, 3 months ago. I received a letter from Sears demanding $400 and one from the Probation department notifying that I would be receiving a court date. I had forgotten about it until recently, and called Probation services. I was told that my case was done, and that DA had closed it. I was told by the probation officer I spoke too that I all I had to was attend Inland Counseling, which I plan to attend. The thing I want to know is how do I get removed from Retail Theft Databases, which is hindering my chances of getting employment. The probation officer I spoke too even said I could come by their office and get the adequate paperwork, but I do not know how to utilize this to get off these damn databases. Thank you for reading, and any sort of advice would be appreciated

I am not familiar with such databases. If you were neither convicted nor entered a plea, I don't think you should be in one, either. I suggest you contact the public defender's office for advice.
