Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My Brother -in-law lived in Pennsylvania and had a sudden death. Being we live in California and my Sister in- law lives in New Jersey we named her as executor. My Bother in-law had a second on his house. When we tried to sell the house the Bank for some reason did not approve prospective buyer and consequently the Bank seized the the house. What happens to the second mortgage.

I'm afraid you are asking a Probate Law question, not a real estate question, and it will be governed by Pennsylvania law, not California. So we attorneys on the California real estate panel can't help you. You need to re-post your question, or better yet have your sister-in-law consult with the probate attorney who has been handling the estate with her.
