Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

cancel condo sale due to has been delay and not thing seems progress

Our family have reserved 4 condos in Daytona beach, fl. I currently reside in South carolina but my second home is in Garden grove, ca. My sister is in California, one brother in Tx, and sister in law in California also. We have made each a deposit of 10% of the sale price of around $32,000.00 each. The contract was signed last year (around Dec,2005)and the sale person promised the resort should be finised by july 2006. We have come down Daytona Beach and check on the progress. Nothing has begun yet and they have said there was paperwork problem with the city...

We want to get back our deposit and cancel the deal. They give us a run around. We want to find a reasonable lawyer who could represent all of us and may be enter a class action suit to this company.

Please give us any advise or any contacts if available

thanks

brian

It seems to me that you should find an attorney in Florida, since that's where the potential defendant is and that's where the subject property is located. I also would suspect that your purchase agreement has some sort of requirement as to where a lawsuit may be brought. You might want to check that out, as well.
