Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I have been dating a girl for 2 1/2 years and we have not been married or anything... she comes to visit me every week but we do not live together...we don't have any kids or nothing... but anyways my question is in the future if I break up with her...can she have rights to ownership of any of my properties....

If your in California don't worry about it. You're not going to stop doing what you're doing. So just don't sign anything that makes your living arraignment a partnership.

Most likely not. Not unless she could convince a judge that you had promised to turn over some of your properties to her in exchange for her being your girlfriend, or that she had contributed financially or otherwise to helping your acquire some property.

California has no common law marriage (contrary to widespread popular belief), so this is not a worry. There are "Marvin" claims, but these require promises from one of the persons to the other, or a written agreement. As long as you haven't agreed to give her property rights in exchange for something, written or oral, there is no problem--just keep that in mind for the future.
