Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My daughter broke her engagement. The two had purchased a car together. He has agreed to release all interest in the vehicle. There is a note but she will be making the payment. Is there a form to have him sign reflecting the agreement to release his interest?

This is a DMV question. They keep track of who owns motor vehicles. The Certificate of Title (a/k/a "pink slip") probably needs to be re-issued. The ex-fiance will probably need to sign the release-of-interest line on the current pink slip, but someone should take it to a nearby (and hopefully not super-busy) DMV office and have the procedure explained, step-by-step. You may need the cooperation of the lender.
