deadbeat roommate

My roommate has not paid rent for three months. He is not on the rental lease. I have asked him to leave. He is refusing and I have someone ready to move in. Can I put the roommate's belongings out on the driveway?

The roommate is your tenant, and is entitled to notice and then a formal eviction process, probably involving an unlawful detainer complaint in court.
