Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My girlfriend and I were trying to buy a vehicle for her. Its still being financed. But my name is the only name on the finance records. And shes been making all the payment on time and still have a few more years to pay. We are splitting up and she wants the car. I want my name taken off and for her to take over the rest of the process. Shes tried to ask a credit union if she could get an auto loan. She was refused/turned down. Her credit is bad. She has no family/friends with good credit to sign for her either. What can I do so this without ruining my credit and/or keep from getting sued? What do you advise?

Make sure you have adequate insurance on the car. I think you are stuck with the situation as the finance company will not drop you from the loan and your transferring title is a breach of your contract with them.
