Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Hi.

I have put in an offer on a short sale. I am currently renting the property. The seller's lender wants me to sign a short sale arm's length affidavit. I am certifying that i am unrelated or unaffiliated by blood or marriage or business transaction, I want to be sure that as a tenant (in California) am not in a business with my landlord. We are not related, I have no relationship with him other than paying rent, we do not socialize, are not friends, and I am definitely looking out for my own self interest - not his. I have lived in the property for seven years. I offered the market value posted on MLS and the seller has accepted my offer. Could signing this affidavit mean problems for me with the lending bank?
