There are subtle technical differences in usage. The main difference is a parcel may be comprised of one lot, more than one contiguous lot, or sometimes may be comprised of a lot and a fraction of another contiguous lot. Lots are created in the course of creating a subdivision, but when the subdivision is developed and sold the developer may put one house on each lot, or combine lots into parcels. Also, when you build condos you create numerous parcels on one lot or more lots.
