Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

"If you lose your home to a property tax sale in California, you generally can’t get it back, except in certain limited circumstances where the county decides to rescind the sale."

If i file bk would that stop the sale?

If i file bk but i am unable to tell the county by the sale date and tell them after the sale has happened . Would they rescind the sale?

I would suggest that if you need to file bankruptcy for other reasons, you should get an experienced bankruptcy attorney to prepare your petition, and inform him/her of the pending sale. He or she will know how to get the sale called off, and can give you counseling on any related financial problems you may be experiencing. It may also be possible to get a brief postponement of the sale. Once you have filed a bankruptcy petition in court, all action against your disclosed assets is stayed.
