Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Missing Deposit

My roommates and I recently moved from a house which we were renting. Afterwords the landlord sent me a list of damages lumped into one $ value for all the problems he found with the house.c

Unfortunately we did not note all of these issues during the our walk through when we moved in.

He is now claiming we owe him $890, plus the $2500 deposit.

Our only evidence is our testimony and our initial sign off sheet, do we have any chance of success if we take him to small claims court..??

Now the landlord

Re: Missing Deposit

You have an excellant chance if you take your landlord to small claims court. Judges see these kind of landlords all the time and the matter will be tried on the credablility of the witnesses. Always take pictures of your rental units when moving in and out.
