My neighbor has installed batting cage in his backyard, and now his kids, and friends of his kids, spend hours hitting the ball. The sound of ball hitting the bat, and hitting the wall, is driving us nuts. We cannot spend time in the backyard, we cannot open windows. Is there a way to influence him?

It sounds to me like a classic private nuisance case. You could sue for damages, injunction, or both.
