Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

property

We allowed a family member who lives next door to place a moble home on our property while she used it to care for her ill mother. her mother has since passed and the permit expired. The county is asking that the moble home be removed but the owners are not moving it. Since we are the property owners we will be fined for it being on our property- what can we do to get it moved?

Re: property

There are several possible legal remedies, but my advice is to negotiate rather than sue or call for a tow truck. Disputes between folks who are not only neighbors but also relatives deserve every possible effort at negotiated or mediated settlement. Try to find out why the mobile home hasn't been moved. Maybe there is a problem finding a mover or a buyer or a new location, Maybe it is tied up in an estate. Once you know WHY it isn't being moved, then you can pro-actively assist is overcoming the problem.
