Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I purcahsed a condo, and aftter a year I was sent a bill from a Home Owners Association that I was not aware of. This H.O.A. was not told to me verbally nor is it listed in any of my documents. The real estate agent refuses to help me!

I suspect if you look closer all the information about the HOA was in disclosures provided to you before you closed escrow.

I believe every condominium project is required by law to have a governing body, a/k/a HOA. So, you should not be surprised.......however, this does not excuse your agent from failure to deliver disclosures including a copy of the HOA agreement and rules. There should have been some mention of the HOA in your preliminary title report, I'd think.
