Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Can I quit claim my name

I have a house with my ex husband and I will like to quit claim on this property because he is the one who has been making all the payments. Is there any form I should fill out or do I need to go to the title co.

Re: Can I quit claim my name

Was the house awarded to one of you in the divorce settlement? Was there no settlement and it was purchased during the marriage so that it might be community property paid for with commmunity funds?

You need to consider the above; if all of those issues have been resolved, you could file a quit claim deed with the County Recorder's office. You can look in the library at a Nolo Press book on real estate ownership to fine a form or go to a local stationery store and get the form itself.
