Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Real estate

I just bought a house and the next door neighbor is threatening to sue me because she claims I have a pool water leak that is damaging her electric car gate. This leak was disclosed before I bought the house but also advised that the leak detection company found no leak and to call a pool leak person for more testing. Who would be liable and who gets sued the old owners or me the new owner of this property? Who pays for the cost of fixing this problem?

Re: Real estate

If the sellers disclosed the leak, you would have no really sound basis to try to pin any liability on them. Difficulty in locating the leak is not a factor in liability in any way that I can imagine. So, I'm afraid you are probably stuck with liability unless pobbibly the original construction was defective and is still covered by express or implied warranty.
