Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

How do I remove my name from the title of a mobile home my boyfriend bought so it will be in his name only? We don't own the land just the mobile?

If the "mobile home" has truly become "Real Estate and Real Property" by being affixed to the gound and accepted as real property by the county, you would execute a deed before a notary and deliver the deed to the boyfriend. Upon his accepting the deed, bingo! Title transferred.

However, more likely than not, this is not Real Estate and Real Property, and is still subject to the title registration policies of the Department of Motor Vehicles. If that's the case, I suggest you either (a) visit the DMV's web site; (b) call them; or (c) re-ask the question on LawGuru under a more appropriate subect matter heading, other than a real estate heading.

Which is a long way of saying, "I don't know."

Actually Mobile Home title and registration in California is governed by the California Department of Housing and Community Development. I suggest you start there, not the DMV.
